It’s primarily a play on geometric shapes interlocking with each other. I wanted the pieces to convey a sense that the shade is suspended and loved the idea of the ring delicately hugging the shades.
A strong influence on the mid-century Bauhaus movement is to be identified in the lines and simplicity of the design which will give the pieces a timeless look that will still be relevant many years from now.”

OUR DESIGNER
Minimalistic style, bright textured fabrics and leathers, and interlocking geometric shapes characterize Girelli’s pieces. Traditional techniques on all joinery and the use of natural materials are also central to his design philosophy that promotes honesty and beauty. In 2019 he founded Girelli Studio, a multidisciplinary design studio focused on industrial design, product design, and design consultancy.
Swiss born David Girelli holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering and a Masters in Art of Design. Now working in the UK, David Girelli is fast becoming renowned across Europe for his elegant contemporary pieces that echo Scandinavian design.
His experience in engineering, fashion, and interior design are clearly reflected in his notable furniture collections.
I’m very excited about the whole project and grateful to be a part of it. I think that what we are trying to achieve is super relevant and the access to great design is still very limited. A lot is to be done and I’m looking forward to seeing how high we can go.”
